More little masterpieces that come to us from the past, for this beautiful set of four linen towels.

These are antique towels woven on a loom with a beautiful heavy yarn of raw linen. The irregular weave, the natural color of the linen and its freshness make them beautiful towels.

Linen is a natural fiber that has been used since ancient times for its strength and beauty. The medium-large fibers were used for dishcloths and towels that, just like these, have a high absorbency and that as they are used and washed will become more and more beautiful and soft.
With washing, the color will gradually tend to lighten towards a light, warm and natural honey color and the fabric will soften over time.

The beauty of the fabric is then completed and enhanced by the perfectly executed threadwork that hems the towels, all different and elaborate, and by the monogram that each towel features in a different character.

The person who made them did so with love and skill, demonstrating how even a humble, everyday object can be special.

And it can bring into our homes a touch of that atmosphere that takes you back in time, to things done well, with attention and dedication.
When even a dishcloth or a towel had their value.

These towels can be used in the bathroom or even in the kitchen and can also find a place on our dining table as runners or placemats.

Fabric: linen.

Number: a set of 4 towels sold together, washed and disinfected.

Dimensions: 119x70 centimeters

Hand wash or machine wash on delicate cycle. Avoid spinning at least for the first few washes, until the color has become uniform.

The towels were made at the beginning of the last century and are in excellent condition.
I would like to point out some stains on two of them, which you can see in the last photos, which are certainly not due to use but to the fact that they got stained accidentally over time.
Probably with washing and use these stains will go away and the irregular color of the fabric will become uniform. However, consider the age of these objects, their past history, the time and life they have seen pass by... the signs that time has left on them are added values, small traces that remind us that they come to us from another era.
Appreciate these little blemishes and imperfections, they are beautiful and speak of the people who preserved them before us.
