You know I can't be without aprons, can't you?
I love the ones made of heavy vintage fabrics: I wear them often, not just for cooking but for all the housework. However, I like to feel tidy, even when I have friends over for dinner, and so the apron has to be beautiful, almost like a dress to wear over my clothes.
This apron is made from a wonderful, sustainable fabric of vintage cotton and hemp, in a warm, timeless natural color, which I found at a market in the Tuscan countryside. It was very well preserved and, after washing, it softened, becoming even more beautiful, with its evident, slightly irregular and rustic texture, full of character.
The model is typical Cecibirbona: a bodice that flows into a ruffled skirt, side bows that adjust it as you like, and the possibility of wearing it loose or more fitted, as you can see in the photos.
Then there's a detail that makes it unique: the pocket, finished with the crocheted edge that decorated the original sheet.
I wanted to keep it right there, as a distinctive and special feature.
The fit is comfortable and loose, perfect over skirts or trousers, but always feminine and graceful. It's truly a unique piece, with all the charm of fabrics that carry a story with them.
Small stains or slight imperfections are not flaws, but traces of time: they tell the story of this fabric's past and give it an authentic and unique beauty.
Hand wash with delicate soap or machine wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle. It's best not to spin dry and avoid drying it in direct sunlight. It will become even softer and more pleasant with each wash.
