A fairy tale... I really don't know how else to describe this apron.
The true star of this apron is the fabric: an antique butter-colored linen, entirely hand-woven on a loom.
A substantial, full-bodied, textured linen, slightly uneven and irregular, lively... a presence and consistency that are practically impossible to find today.
It is one of those fabrics that, on its own, tells a story.
The panels, of fixed width, are joined by splendid original hand-stitched herringbone seams, with tight, regular, and durable stitches.
A work of great mastery, designed to last, which today also becomes a precious decorative element.
The embroidery is done in cross-stitch, with extreme precision: it depicts a lady in her blue dress sheltering from the sun with a parasol.
Beside her, the initials "AM", surely belonging to the woman for whom this cloth was made.
A delicate, elegant embroidery, executed with patience and great care.
The model is typical of Cecibirbona: a bodice with a rich and gathered skirt, the ties can be fastened with two side bows or can be tied at the back or front, as desired.
It is practical to wear from above, even without untying the bows every time.
It has two comfortable and spacious pockets.
The fit is wide and comfortable, suitable to be worn over skirts and trousers, but at the same time very feminine and harmonious.
One of a kind.
The antique linen dates back to the period between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Small imperfections and slight signs of time bear witness to its age and increase its value, telling its past.
Hand washable or machine washable at 30° on a delicate cycle.
Do not spin dry and do not dry in direct sunlight.
With washing, the color will slowly tend to lighten, taking on the warm and natural shades of raw linen.
One size.
You see it worn by me, who am 1.64 m tall.
