I confess that I love aprons, but you already know that, especially those made of thick fabric. I always wear them around the house, not only for cooking, but also for countless household chores.
However, I like to always look neat, so the apron must be beautiful!!!! That is, it must be suitable to wear even when I invite friends over for dinner, for example.
That's why I thought of this apron, which is almost a dress, to wear over clothes.
This apron is made of a beautiful natural-colored raw hemp and vintage linen fabric, hand-woven on a loom and excellently preserved. These fabrics are becoming increasingly rare, but I was lucky enough to buy it at a flea market in the Tuscan countryside.
This fabric is embellished with delightful hand-embroidered drawn thread work, created by patient and skilled hands, which decorates the hem of the skirt panels and the two roomy pockets. The front drawn thread work is taller and more elaborate than the back, but both are very well made and beautiful, the result of careful work by expert hands.
The model is typical of Cecibirbona: it features a bodice to which a full gathered skirt is attached; the front and back tie with two side bows. It is put on from the top very practically, even without untying the side bows each time.
It has two comfortable and spacious pockets.
The fit is loose and comfortable, so it can be worn over skirts and trousers, but it is simultaneously very graceful.
One of a kind.
The sturdy linen and hemp fabric dates back to the first half of the last century. Small imperfections and minor stains bear witness to the age of this fabric and speak of its past.
The stains caused by time will lighten with washing…unfortunately…I love this patina of the past that other times have.
Hand washable or machine washable at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle. Do not spin dry and do not dry in direct sunlight.
With washing, the color will gradually lighten, testifying to the naturalness of the fabric, acquiring the warm color of the natural raw fabric.
One size fits all. You can see it worn by me, and I am 1.64 m tall.
