It is practically a real dress, to be worn alone, with cotton socks or over skirts or trousers. Velvet is beautiful and quite heavy, a fabric with character, but not suitable for everyone as it is quite heavy.
It's a very soft fabric, pleasant to the touch, and becomes even more beautiful with use, but you have to be sure to appreciate the "lived-in" look it acquires over time. And you know I love it...

The fabric is a pure cotton blue velvet, so we recommend hand-washing carefully without wringing and hanging to dry. Iron on the reverse side with a moderate iron.
