In my ongoing search for antique fabrics, I sometimes come across real little treasures, as in this case.

Extremely precious garments that tell us about another era, other lives, and the hardworking hands that embroidered and sewed.

This stunning bath towel, which is part of a pair of towels (the other one is also for sale in this shop), is very large and made of a beautiful rustic fabric with a clear weave. The small embroidery is perfectly executed, and above all, the very high and wonderful hand-worked hem makes it a beautiful towel.

The fabric is made of linen and hemp, natural fibers used since antiquity for their strength and beauty. Thanks to the yarn used, the towel has a high absorbency and will become even more beautiful with use and washing.

The beauty of the fabric is further enhanced by the two small, delightful BP initials embossed in a corner of the sheet.

On both of the two shorter sides, there are two beautiful and elaborate borders, the result of long work and great skill, made by hand with crochet, truly stunning, which end with long fringes.

A true masterpiece of skill dating back to the early twentieth century.

The person who made them did so with love and great skill, demonstrating how even an everyday object can be a true masterpiece.

And it can bring a touch of that atmosphere into our homes, taking us back in time to things done well, with care and dedication.
When even a towel had great value.

This sheet can be used in the bathroom or even in the kitchen, and it can also become a beautiful curtain.

Fabric: linen and hemp. The embroidery and hems are the original ones from the tablecloth.

Measurements: 124x73 centimeters excluding the hems, which are approximately 25 cm high each.

Hand wash recommended, or machine wash on a delicate cycle with neutral soap.

Do not spin dry and do not dry in the sun.

There may be small stains or imperfections that are evidence of the age of this sheet, which is nevertheless perfectly preserved and has probably never been used.
Consider the age of these objects, their past history, the time and life they have witnessed... the marks that time has left on them are added values, small traces that remind us that they come to us from another era.
Appreciate these small imperfections, they are beautiful and tell the story of the people who kept them before us.
