This apron is made from a wonderful butter colored vintage linen fabric, hand woven on a loom over a century ago and excellently preserved. These fabrics are increasingly unobtainable, but I was lucky enough to buy them at a flea market in the Tuscan countryside.
The cloth from which the apron was made was made up of panels sewn together by hand, seams that can be seen in some of these aprons. These precious details and small age spots testify to its past history, making it beautiful.
When I washed it it softened incredibly and became even more beautiful.
With washing, the color will gradually lighten, evidence of the naturalness of the fabric, acquiring the warm color of raw linen.
The model is typical of Cecibirbona: foresee a bodice to which a rich ruffled skirt is attached; the front and back fasten with two side bows. It is worn from above in a very practical way, even without undoing the side bows every time.
The pockets are comfortable and roomy.
The fit is loose and comfortable, so it can be worn over skirts and trousers, but is very graceful at the same time.
