Antique Fabric Kitchen Ladies Apron with AF Monogram - Embroidered Apron
Antique Fabric Kitchen Ladies Apron with AF Monogram - Embroidered Apron
A beautiful dress for the kitchen....because it's not just an apron. It is a marvel that comes to us from the distant past.
Its story begins about a century ago, with a wonderful antique cotton fabric, hand-woven on a loom, with a wonderful monogram that I was lucky enough to find in an antiques market. A monogram in pink, which makes this apron very romantic.
An empire style apron, with a short bodice to which is attached a long skirt that has small loose folds that caress the figure.
The bodice is the protagonist of this apron thanks to a beautiful original monogram that represents the two figures AF embroidered in cross-stitch pink cotton. A very beautiful embroidery, made by expert hands, which was probably commissioned to the embroiderer by the recipient of the cloth.
Two long braces are inserted on the bodice which, crossing behind, are hooked thanks to two beautiful antique mother-of-pearl buttons.
The two large pockets are held in place by pink cotton details.
It is a beautiful fabric, of those of the past, handmade on a loom, resistant but soft, destined to last over time. The loom-made fabrics had a width dictated by the dimensions of the loom itself and were therefore hand-sewn in length and these resistant and perfect handmade seams are proudly displayed on the skirt and bodice. I tried to highlight them because they are really beautiful.
The cloth was well preserved, and the decades that have passed since it was created have left some slight marks that I didn't want to totally erase with washing, because they are the stupendous testimony of its past history. Appreciate them before soaps and use make them disappear permanently.
A real treasure, one of those as precious as they are rare and destined to run out, to which I have given a second life.
The fit is comfortable and there are three buttonholes on the straps to adapt it to various body types.
On request it will be possible to embroider the name of the person who will wear it.
The fabric is a beautiful cotton from the early 1900s, so small imperfections characterize it and testify to its past history.
One size, prompt delivery.
You see it worn by me who am 1.64m tall.
