Antique fabric kitchen ladies apron with MC monogram - embroidered apron
A beautiful dress for the kitchen....because it's not just an apron. It is a marvel that comes to us from the distant past.
Its story begins over a century ago, with a wonderful antique cotton fabric, handmade on a loom, with a wonderful monogram that I was lucky enough to find in a forgotten trunk in an old attic. A piece of the past that has seen the light again after so many decades.
An apron in the classic model of Cecibirbona, with a wide bodice that continues in two ruched panels and connected on the sides by two bows, with two comfortable front pockets.
A beautiful fabric, of those of the past, handmade on a loom, resistant but soft, destined to last over time. The loom-made fabrics had a width dictated by the dimensions of the loom itself and were therefore hand-sewn in length and these resistant and perfect handmade seams are proudly displayed on the skirt.
But the spotlights are focused on a detail of the skirt that makes this apron unique and precious... the beautiful original hand-made embroidery of the monogram to which the cloth belonged: two beautiful letters in capital italics, MC. They are two letters in relief embroidery, completed by perfectly executed little flowers and leaves, and they are so beautiful and unique that I decided to center them on the skirt of this beautiful apron. But that's not all, because both the skirt and the pockets are completed by a delightful drawing that we can only imagine how long the talented embroiderer who created it took.
A real treasure, one of those as precious as they are rare and destined to run out, to which I have given a second life. In fact, the original cloth had its inevitable and beautiful signs of the past, which I carefully preserved and highlighted when they were compatible with the apron I wanted to make, while some parts of the cloth were eliminated as they were too worn out by time.
The fit is comfortable, it adjusts with the bows on the sides, a detail that makes it suitable for all sizes.
On request it will be possible to embroider the name of the person who will wear it.
The fabric is a beautiful late 19th century cotton, so small imperfections characterize it and testify to its past history.
One size, prompt delivery.
You see it worn by me who am 1.64 m tall.
