The fabric comes from an old trunk belonging to a family in my Tuscany, an ancient linen made by hand on a loom. As was the custom back then, the sheets were as wide as the loom allowed and were joined with hand-sewn seams: you can see them here on the skirt, delicate and beautiful, true details that tell its story.
It has a wide bodice that falls into two gathered panels, tied at the hips with ribbons. It's easy to wear even without untying them every time.
The front pockets, spacious and practical, feature the original lace trim: a work of patience and skill that we now admire as a treasure.
